Gold Box Companion requires Secret of the Silver Blades version 1.3. You will need to set the install directory when first running Gold Box Companion, it is C:\GAMES\DOS\BLADES. See the Gold Box Companion documentation for more details.
This installer creates a bash script for disabling the copy protection from Secret of the Silver Blades version 1.3, it requires xxd to function. Run remove-copy-protection.sh in the install directory. With the copy protection patched you can press enter at the copy protection screen three times to pass the check.
The DOSBox config is located at [install directory]/drive_c/GAMES/DOSBOX/DOSBOX.CONF.

Some of those clues will lead you to the dark and monster infested depths while others will reveal the true evil plans. Don't worry about your reward, along your path, you will recover a vast sum of gold and helpful items.
