Gold Box Companion requires Pools of Darkness version 1.1. You will need to set the install directory when first running Gold Box Companion, it is C:\GAMES\DOS\DARKNESS. See the Gold Box Companion documentation for more details.
Pools of Darkness allows importing characters directly from Secret of the Silver Blades. A placeholder directory has been created at [install directory]/drive_c/GAMES/BLADES, you can copy your game files here if you would like to use this feature.
This installer creates a bash script for disabling the copy protection from Pools of Darkness version 1.1, it requires xxd to function. Run remove-copy-protection.sh in the install directory. With the copy protection patched you can press enter at the copy protection screen to pass the check.
The DOSBox config is located at [install directory]/drive_c/GAMES/DOSBOX/DOSBOX.CONF.
