Wine 2 CD Heroes III: Complete version last published 1 year, 3 months agoThe installer is for Heroes III: Complete, 2 CD Version (includes Heroes III: The Restoration of Erathia, Heroes III: Armageddon's Blade, and Heroes III: Shadow of Death).
The 2 CDs are part of Heroes of Might and Magic: Platinum Edition
1. Rip both CDs (CDs 3 and 4 from Heroes of Might and Magic: Platinum Edition)
2. Mount both CDs
3. Proceed with installation. Do not install DirectX when asked.
On game first run, it will skip the intro and say it can not find the CD. That's ok, just exit the game and start it again.
Note: The downloaded nocd patch (1KB) is applied using bspatch. The patch will modify the installed HEROES3.EXE to match the GoG nocd version (resulting HEROES3.EXE sha256: b067f3c24467e8cd77f875f3cae4ebc9610d7989514261cbac0785f5c08ca751). -
Wine GOG version last published 2 years, 2 months agoThe first time is not possible to skip the cgi introduction. This is the installer issue, but game design - native Windows installation presents same behavior.

Wine GOG + HotA + HD mod version last published 3 months, 1 week agoUsing the GOG windows version with Horn of the Abyss expansion. Comes pre-installed with HD mod.Recommended at the first run, when HoMM3 HD+ shows up to upgrade it, as the one which comes with HotA most certainly outdated!
To run the Complete Edition campaigns, in the launcher window: select "Heroes3.exe" and press "Create HD exe" button.

When Erathia's King Gryphonheart is murdered by traitors he is resurrected as an undead warlord who leads a ruthless invasion of his former Kingdom. Little resistance is met until his daughter Catherine, Queen of Enroth, returns to her homeland commanding an army of elite Enrothian warriors. Meanwhile the Necromancers raise large hordes of undead and advance towards the Erathian capitol.
