What is Final Fantasy XI Braver all about?
Final Fantasy XI was released for the PlayStation 2 back in 2002. It was also the first multiplayer online FF game that Square Enix has ever put out. Classic titles from that era have always been popular with gamers even today. It's no wonder that independent releases from passionate fans have become a trend in recent years, and Final Fantasy XI Braver is one such example.

While the original Final Fantasy XI features online multiplayer, Braver is solely a single-player affair that features its own story based on the FF universe. It has plenty of familiar elements from the classic game. It boasts 30-50 hours of gameplay with over 30 side quests to take on. It brings back the Skillchain and Magic Burst weapon skill system, as well as Limit Break abilities into the mix.

The Crafting & Mining System from the original is also alive and well here. It even managed to incorporate the MMO-style system with 18 character classes to choose from and experiment with. One thing to note is that the game is still in active development, hence the occasional performance and stability issues are to be expected.

Story
After your last excursion to Valkurm Dunes, you have started to turn some heads. You are summoned to meet with the Captain of the Ducal Guard in the Grand Duchy of Jeuno. A new mission sends you to the Republic of Bastok where you uncover new and startling information that will send your party to a battle on the frontlines that was never expected.
