Since this changes the default screen resolution of Dungeon Keeper the escape menu will have no text. This is normal with dungeon keeper, but the buttons have icons and are pretty self-explanatory.
Typing into the savegame name field will show nothing, just keep typing and press return. The savegame will show anyway. -

I recommend using my controller profile for Dungeon Keeper 2. I played through the entire game with it and it is very elaborate for Steam Deck. The name is "Dungeon Keeper 2 - Perfect Layout". Search for it in the controller layout menu of your Steam Deck. -
