The Playoff Edition expands dramatically on the original in a number of ways:•16 teams of 12 (fictitious) players each
- All players individually rated for various skills (Shooting %, Stamina, etc.)
- Three play modes: Exhibition, Playoff (with password feature), and Multiplayer
- 8-way multiplayer support with the Sega "Team Player" adapter
